The Bible is for everyone.

The Bible tells us the truth of who God is. If you want to know more about God and His promises, join one of our classes.

Our various classes are for every person, at every stage of life. Whether you have a lot of time or a little, whether you’ve studied Genesis five times or never opened the Bible, there is a group for you here. Our Bible Studies and Christian Education small groups give you a place to learn about God’s Word and a people to grow with along the way.

All Scripture is God-breathed… (2 Timothy 3:16)

Our Studies and Small Groups

Zion Club Kids Ministry

At Zion, children are valuable members of the church family. We’re passionate about partnering with families to raise kids who love and trust Jesus. We do so by walking with them through their spiritual development–building Christ-centered relationships, teaching a Bible-centered curriculum, and participating in missional activities. Our program includes games, crafts, and solid Lutheran teachings, as well as occasional outings and special activities. Our Sunday School, Zion Club, meets every Sunday from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM, and kids are always welcome in our worship services.

Pastor’s Bible Study

At any given time, Pastor Frederick is leading a study for the members and friends of Zion. Whether it is a video series on Christian apologetics, a Lutheran “re-confirmation” class on the basis of our theology, a thought-provoking study of Revelation or an in-depth look at the Books of John or the letters to the Romans, these studies are certain to help you grow in your walk of faith.

Women of the Word

Our WoW small group, or Women of the Word, meets each Thursday morning to discuss the lesson for the week. It is a chance for women to meet and study God’s Word and enjoy some fellowship.

Older, Wiser, Lively Seniors

Our OWLS (Older, Wiser, Lively Seniors) meets every Thursday at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Bring a brown bag lunch!

Pharos

This small group Bible study named “Pharos”, which means lighthouse or beacon, takes place at the Werronen home on the first and third Thursdays of the months of September thru December and February thru May. The study begins with prayer at 7 pm and concludes with a dessert for the evening. We are currently in a 10-chapter study entitled “Listening to God” with verses taken from Genesis to Revelation. The emphasis of Pharos is participation by all members in response to the chapter questions which are read by that week’s leader.  New members are always welcome!

Men’s Study

The men of Zion have two occasions to study together: they can gather to read the scriptures and enjoy a time of fellowship around the Word of God with breakfast each Thursday for an informal discussion on current topics.

Another small men group Bible study meets on the second Saturday of each month from September thru May at the café in Heinen’s grocery store in Chardon. Men arrive at the store opening of 8 AM to purchase their coffee and pastry and the hour-long study begins after our snacks have been consumed! Our current study is from the guide entitled “The Twelve Disciples”. While the leader for each chapter may conduct the questions, there is much participation by all the guys and we have found many interesting and unexpected angles of discussion develop regarding the given topic.  There’s always room for more!

Parent’s Cafe

Parent Cafés, taking place every Tuesday at 9AM, are physically and emotionally safe spaces where parents and caregivers talk about the challenges and victories of raising a family. Through individual deep self-reflection and peer-to-peer learning, participants explore their strengths, learn about the Protective Factors, and create strategies from their own wisdom and experiences to help strengthen their families. Child care is offered during Parent Cafés’ activities.
