Our Motto
(The short expression of our guiding principles)
Bible True, Jesus Strong.
Our Vision
(The way we see our place in the story)
Anchored in the Word of God / Guided by Christ our Light / Called to serve the world and be fishers of men
Our Mission
(The reason we exist and our driving purpose)
By the power of the Holy Spirit and standing solidly in the Word of God, we strive to further the Kingdom of God and to be disciples proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. We want to see the Church growing in love for God and each other, and sharing that love with the whole world.
Our Core Beliefs
Triune God
We believe in one and only one living and true God, who exists eternally in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Bible
We believe that the Bible is the true, inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. We hold it to be the final authority on all matters of faith, practice, and life.
Salvation by Grace through Faith
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only remedy to the brokenness of the world, and the only way to salvation. He lived in perfect obedience to the Father, voluntarily paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross, and having satisfied divine justice, bring salvation to all who trust in Him alone. The salvation of humanity comes from God’s free grace; it is not the result of human works or goodness.
Great Commission and Great Commandment
We believe that it is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ to advance the Kingdom of God to the entire world by making disciples of all nations. We believe we are called to reach out in love to all, inspired by the pure, abundant, and never-ending love of God for us.
Sacraments
We believe God gives grace and mercy through the mystery of the sacraments because He promises to do so, and God never breaks His promises. We believe in two sacraments: Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. We believe in the true presence of Jesus Christ in the bread and wine of Communion, and will make room at our table for all the baptized sharing that belief. We believe in a one-time infant baptism, emphasizing that God is the primary actor who claims us, joins us to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, makes us part of the church, pours the Holy Spirit upon us, and forgives our sin. We do not choose God; rather, God chooses us and will never let us go.
Life of Faith
We believe growth in faith is life-long, from cradle to grave. We are constantly learning about who God is and His great love for us and all creation. While a personal relationship with God is important, we hold that fellowship through a community of faith is equally important. As such, we believe opportunities to read and discuss God’s word; and share in prayer, worship, and service to God and others are vital to our life of faith.
Sanctity of Life and Marriage
We believe that all human life is a sacred gift from God and is to be protected and defended from conception to natural death. We believe God ordained marriage between male and female as a covenant to serve as the foundation of family and the basic structure of human society. We will uphold the sanctity of life, family, and marriage but bring the grace, compassion, and light of Jesus Christ to all.
Creeds
We accept the Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds as true declarations of the scriptural faith we believe, teach and confess. We believe, teach, and accept the Unaltered Augsburg Confession and the Small Catechism as true witnesses of the Word of God, normative for our teaching and practice.
